Because your set deserves to last as long as you do.
Gel application is the secret behind press-ons that feel seamless, look flawless, and actually stay put. With the right prep and technique, your Aveniqa set can last up to 21 days with no lifting, no popping, no stress.
Here's exactly how to do it.
What You'll Need
- Cuticle remover
- Cuticle pusher or wood stick
- Nail nippers (optional)
- Nail file
- Buffer
- Nail dehydrator
- Gel nail glue
- UV or LED lamp
Pro tip: Lay everything out before you start. A smooth process equals a better application.

Step 1: Start with a Clean Base
Wash your hands and dry them completely. Remove any oils, lotion, or residue. Even a tiny amount can affect how long your set lasts. This step is non-negotiable.
Step 2: Cuticle Prep
Apply cuticle remover around the base of each nail. Wait about 30 seconds, then gently push back your cuticles, remove any thin skin from the nail plate, and trim only if needed.
A clean nail plate is everything. Don't skip this.
Step 3: Shape Your Natural Nails
File your nails shorter, smooth the edges, and remove any sharp corners. Your natural nail should not extend past the press-on. This keeps the fit clean and prevents stress on the bond.
Step 4: Buff for Grip
Lightly buff to remove shine. Focus on the center, around the cuticle area, and the side walls. You're creating grip, not thinning the nail. Think of it as giving the gel something to hold onto.
Step 5: Dehydrate
Wipe away dust, then apply your nail dehydrator. Let it air dry fully. Your nails should look matte and feel completely dry before moving on.
Step 6: Size and Test Fit
Before any gel touches your nails, match each press-on to your nail and confirm it fits side to side. File the edges if needed. A precise fit prevents lifting and makes the whole set look more natural.
Step 7: Apply Gel Glue
Apply a thin, even layer of gel glue. A small amount on your natural nail, and a thin layer inside the press-on. Less is more here. Excess product causes air bubbles and flooding, which weakens the bond.
Step 8: Place the Nail
Start at the cuticle, angle the nail slightly downward, and press slowly toward the tip. As you press, push out any air and hold the nail firmly in place. Take your time with this step. It's what determines how long your set lasts.
Step 9: Flash Cure
While holding the nail in place, do a quick flash cure under your UV or LED lamp for 10 to 20 seconds. This locks the nail so it doesn't shift. Keep it perfectly aligned during this step.
Step 10: Final Cure
Once all nails are applied, cure your full hand for 60 to 90 seconds. This fully hardens the gel and secures your set for long, beautiful wear.
Aftercare
- Avoid water for at least 1 hour after application
- Be gentle with your hands the first day
- Apply cuticle oil daily to keep your skin and nails looking polished
Your set is an investment. Treat it like one.
Why Gel Makes the Difference
Gel application creates a stronger bond, longer wear (up to 21 days), and a smoother, more seamless finish than traditional glue tabs. Once you try it, you won't go back.
